Recipe Review
A couple days ago I did a post on the spaghettini recipe I came accross online. Today I decided to try it and let me tell you... it was great! The flavors of the bacon, basil and garlic really come through in this dish. One thing I noted was to use a little less olive oil than the recipe calls for. The parmesan was a great touch. The following are the ingredients. Follow the link in the following post to watch the video.
>3 or 4 pieces of bacon (I use more because I really like the bacon flavor)
>1 clove of garlic
>4 or 5 basil leaves
>1 cup baby tomatos (cut in fours)
>Spaghetti pasta
>Olive Oil
This recipe is really simple and the amount of the ingredients you use is really up to your taste buds and what you like.

Do it Yourself: Perfect French Manicure
I have tried all kinds of polishes to give myself that perfect manicure at home. Well, after much money wasted I finally am confident I found it! It's sort of like a polish sticker. It's from Incoco. The french manicure kit comes complete with; the dry polish stickers, manicure stick, nail file and nail polish remover cloth. I bought it from Walgreens for about $4.99 per set. They also have solid colors.
1. First, match up the white tip and stick on each nail. File away access.
2. Your supposed to then stick on the neutral color that goes over the entire
nail for a softer manicure... SKIP THIS STEP ( the sticker
doesn't always match up to your exact nail size, resulting in the whole nail
not being covered.)
3. Use a top clear coat over your nail and just the white tip.
And that my friends gives you this gorgeous finished product. Every time I go somewhere people ask me where I get my nails done! It also stays on for up to 2 weeks without chipping. Just be sure to re-apply the top coat every 4 or 5 days to freshen up the manicure.
Really Simple Recipe Website
As part of my routine, everyday I look at the articles on aol.com. Well today I saw a video for Olive Pesto Pasta made with tuna. It directed me to a site (www.kitchendaily.com) that showed me how to make what is fairly simple with ingredients you most likely have in your pantry: tuna, pasta, olives, olive oil and spices. I also loved how healthy it was. Well after viewing that video I couldn't leave the site. It was filled with so many similar easy recipes including a spaghettini (basically just tomatoes, spaghetti pasta, olive oil, garlic and bacon!) You have to check out this site... If you make any of these dishes be sure to share the experience with me.

Display your Bracelets
I love things being organized but my jewelry armoire is getting a little full. Until I can spend $200 on the one I want from Target, I figure this is a great way to keep my bracelets organized, displayed and to clear up some room in my armoire. I got them from Michaels for about $7 each. Another way to store your bracelets would be to get a stand and insert a vertical pole. Your bracelets will stack vertically. I think the vertical one holds more bracelets and takes up less room (I'm going to have to invest in that one if my bracelet collection grows).

Fruit Smoothies!
Lately I've been on this smoothie kick. It's super hot right now and having a smoothie is my way to keep cool in the summer and get in my fruit for the day. This is the simple recipe I use. You may need to make alterations to my ingrediants to suit your taste buds:
> About 1 cup of ice (add more for thicker drink)
> 6 strawberries cut in half
> 1 banana, sliced
> 1 nectarine, peeled and sliced
> 1/2 cup of milk
> 2 tbs of sugar
Enjoy!

One Dollar!
I went to the dollar store today (everthing is a dollar store) and found some really good buys. I knew they have some good finds every now and then but was surprised by a few things. The James Blunt CD is on itunes for $12.99. It's really a nice relaxing album. Definitely worth $1. The polish is from Sally Henson. It's Hard as Nails Diamond

Do it Yourself: Body Scrub
I love giving myself manicures but the one thing I've been missing is having the soft hands after. Hand cream just doesn't do it. I tried this home remedy and it really surprised me. Not even two minutes later my hands were baby soft. Just use olive oil and raw sugar and voila your very own body scrub. I put mine in an empty jar and keep it next to my shower. Mix 1 part sugar to 2 parts olive oil.. Be sure to add a few drops of your favorite scented oil or perfume.
