Donate Food via Your Mail Box this Saturday!

Sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to have cravings that we are able to fulfill. Something as simple as going to the grocery store to pick up a slice of cake we often take for granted. There are people that don't have this luxury. And although I'm sure most of us have every intention to volunteer or give back to our community, it gets hard with all the happenings of our daily lives.

This Saturday you can give back to those in need for food by simply bagging non-perishable food items and putting them by your mailbox. The letter carriers are picking up all the food and taking it back to the post office where volunteers will help separate the food and get it to local food banks.

**Again, this is going on nation-wide so everyone across the country can make a difference.

I Love This Top Coat!

As you probably know by now, Walgreens sells Essie products which is more convenient for me not having to drive all the way to Ulta. I picked this up at Walgreens yesterday, Essie's Good to Go Rapid Dry Top Coat. I put it over "Pink Shock" by Maybelline and although it's hard to see clearly in the photos it really shines. I was so impressed with the shield like layer it coated my nails with that I didn't notice it only took a couple minutes to dry completely. For some reason I always do my nails right before bed which sometimes results in smudged nails in the morning. But this morning... no smudges! Although I realize that at $7.99 it is a little on the pricey side, I have no complaints. It really makes my nails shine and have that fresh out of the salon look.

Here's my new favorite top coat:

And this is the result I pleasantly woke up to:

Quick Tip: for a smooth manicure

Have you ever finished your own manicure only to find that you have extra skin around your nails that's a little hard? Well instead of having to buy the tool that clips off the dead skin (which can be dangerous if you clip to much- let's leave this for the salon professionals), try this simple trick: use a nail file and file away the extra dead skin!

Works everytime.

Following the E-Reader Trend

I've been thinking lately about purchasing one of the e-readers. I normally like to hold a book in front of me but I also like the organization the devices offer. Specifically for my magazine subscriptions.

So I ask you. Which of the gadget brands do you prefer?

Good Buy or Good Bye: Mainstay candles

Yesterday I was reading an article in Real Simple Magazine (my fav of the moment) on how to energize your morning. It talked about the aromatherapy powers citrus has on getting our endorphins going in the morning. So I rushed to Walmart to pick up citrus candles, body wash and roses for my night stand. I'm a Bath and Body Works candle kind of girl but I was pleasantly surprised to see Walmart offers small scented candles for one dollar.

There are soo many different fragrances it was hard to choose from. Well let me tell you... the cranberry mandarin scent I purchased is AMAZING! I had it lit this morning while getting ready for work and it smelled amazing! I have also had it lit for a while this evening and from what I can see so far, it burns pretty even. So my new find is definately a "Good Buy".

I'm planning on purchasing a few of these to slip into my suitcase for my summer vacation destinations. What a perfect way to liven up a hotel room!
